M.O.E

M.O.E
Quarter 1

  1. What was the project about? We had to make a powerpoint about a country in the Arab world and an Islamic country. We had to put the title of the Country and a picture of the flag. We needed to put the customs, languages, the the % of muslims, the population the location and capital city. We also needed to put 1 important city and why.

  2. What was the purpose? The purpose was so that we could learn about one islamic country. We did this so that we could understand more about the islamic and the Arab world.

  3. What did I learn? We learned a lot about the country we did. I learned one important city. I also learned that Pakistan is 97% muslim. I learned about their customs and habits. I learned that the capital city was Islamabad. It is the most important city because it is the capital and it has improved so much and also improved Pakistan much more.

  4. How could you have done better? Maybe I could have added more pictures and added a few more slides. I have all of the information needed but maybe I could have made it more detailed.

  5. How does this project relate to my goals this year? This project relates to my goals this year because I want to learn more about the islamic world.

Spanish

What was this project? In this project we had to make a poster about ourseleves. It is called "Quien Soy?" Which means who am I. We had to add greetings. Some of the questions were, what is your name?, what school you go to, what grade you are in and what you like to do. We then had to add pictures. Hola! Me llamo Cienna. Hasta lluego.

What was the purpose of this project? The purpose was so that the teacher and other classmates can learn alittle bit about you. You can also learn the vocabulary in spanish. You may also want to learn how to do this in the future. If you want to know these words in the future if you want to know this vocabulary to introduce yourself to someone that speaks spanish.

What could you have done differently? I could have added more pictures and decorated and designed it more. I have all the information but I don't have a lot of pictures and decorations. It would make it more presentable even though there are a lot of pictures.

What do you learn from this? You learn how to introduce yourself in spanish.

Quarter 1

The activity was to write about ourselves and write who we are. This project was called Quien Soy? This means, who am I. In this project we had to answer these questions, what is your name, what school do you go to, how old you are, what you like to do and what grade you're in. You also had to add pictures and greetings. Hola! Me llamo Cienna. Yo estudiante de DEMS. Yo tengo 12 anos. Me gusta jugar futbol. Estoy en el grado 7. Hasta luego!!!

The purpose was to learn about other classmates you might not know and to learn about yourself. Its a way that the teacher can learn about you. For example, if you like to speak spanish. The teacher might want to know that. This is also away that you can learn how to introduce yourself in spanish. For example, If you go to a spanish speaking contry, you might need to know these things to introduce yourself if no one can speak spanish.

Maybe I could have decorated mine alittle bit more. Maybe I could have drew more pictures and made it more creative. I could have drew more pictures about what I like. Mine is decorative but is not so decorative and might need a few more pictures to make it look better.

This activity relates to my goal this year because my goal in spanish is to get better at it and try to speak it fluentley. I will need to know this in order to speak fluently in the future. That is why this is very important to know.

I learned how to introduce myself in spanish. This is important for the future when someone who doesn't spanish needs me to introduce myself. I learned how to say what grade I'm in, what school I go to and what I like to do like playing soccer.

The End is Near

What piece of work or learning are you most proud of? I am mostly proud of my lit circles because I got really good grades and I learned that I should never say never and I can get a good grade. Lit circles is really hard because we have to finish everything on time and make sure that it is the best that we can do.

My greatest challenges were getting things done in time. We had lit circles, tic tac toe's, math projects, imovies, diaries and more. For some, I left them to the last minute. Two words, BIG MISTAKE. But that's okay because I learned from my mistakes and stoped doing that. I decided that I could finish before the last minute and when I did I got a better grade.

What I learned about myself as a learned was that I shouldn't be afraid to raise my hand in class. I used to not raise my hand in class at all because I was worried that I would get the questions wrong infront of everyone. But I know now that I don't need to worry. I raise my hand a lot more in class now and I don't care if I get it wrong because at least I raised my hand and learned from my mistakes.

Behavior: I think that my behavior is a great one. My behavior is a can do behavior and I come to school with a smile on my face. I think that I have a super good behavior in school.

Organization: I think that I am super organized. I have a clean locker and it never gets messy. I don't loose work because I keep things clean and neat and organized. I come to class prepared.

Participation: Satisfactory. I am a little shy so I don't like to raise my hand a lot in class. I still raise my hand in class but not as many times that I think I can regularly.

Effort: I always go above and beyond. I try to do my very best so that everything will be just great and I will get good grades. I push myself enough so that I will have a lot of effort.

Two goals that I have for 7th grade are...
1: I would like to not be so shy in class.
2: I would like to ask more questions in class well more that I usually do.

Here are some information that I would like my seventh grade teachers to know is...

  • I am a little bit shy in class. Only a little bit shy in class.

  • I like to read and write

  • I have a good attitude in class

  • I like working with parteners

  • I'm a great listener

  • I like to be serious now and then but also fun every now and then too

  • I'm not that great at math but I learn from my mistakes and I try my best

Now the fifth graders are becoming 6th graders. Sixth grade is so much fun. Here are just a few tips to being succsessful. Remember your locker combination. Write it on the back of your shirt if you have to JUST DO IT. If you forget then it can get messy. Stay organized and don't save your work to the last minute. You won't do you best effort because you'll be focused on finishing it then doing a good job on it. Remember to bring money for lunch. Try not to lose anything. Don't be afraid of the high schoolers. HAVE FUN!

Good-bye dad

Dear Dad,
I have learned a lot as a the Receiver of Memories. I have learned about emotions, releasing and color. Emotions are feelings that we have and they need to be expressed. That's why we don't need to take stirrings. I know that you killed the other twin. That is what releasing is, right? You injected some sort of poison into that twin. Why did you? Why should that be the way to release people? I learned about color. Color also expresses us. My first color was when an apple changed color to red. So you see I have learned a lot in the community. I need to leave because for my freedom and because it is my choice. After I watched you kill that twin, my heart sank and I will never think of you in the same way as I did before I watched that video. Why do you still want a job that involves killing people? I would ask the elders if I could switch if I ever got that job. I must go because of you. You scared me and I don't want to go back. I can't believe you voted for Gabriel to be released. Now that I know what it is, I will not let you take him. Sorry dad but if this is what you are going to do I must leave. I need freedom and space and I need to be far away from you as possible. I know that you don't mean any harm, but I felt horrified that you could be so emotionless. Thank you. Send me a letter back telling me how everyone is doing, mom, Lily, you, Asher, Fiona and do a favor for me. Please tell The Giver thank you for everything that he has done for me, everything he taught me, everything he was willing to do for me.

Freedom and Choices

" Gabriel's breathing was even and deep. Jonas liked having him there, though he felt guilty about the secret. Each night he gave memories to Gabriel: memories of boat rides and picnics in the sun; memories of soft rainfall against windowpanes; memories of dancing bare-footed on a damp lawn.
"Gabe?"
The new child stirred slightly in his sleep, Jonas looked over at him.
"There could be love" Jonas whispered.

The next morning, for the first time, Jonas did not take his pill. Something within him, something that had grown there through the memories, told him to throw the pill away"

This quote is all about choices and freedom. There are many reasons for this. Firstly, because Jonas had a little bit of freedom. He wasn't allowed to tell Gabriel the memories, but he did. Jonas threw the pill away by choice and because he had freedom now. No one knew what he did with Gabriel so he has freedom. Jonas didn't have to tell Gabriel about the memories and he didn't have to throw away the pill but he wanted to. It was his
choice to throw away the pill. He knew that he didn't have to eat it. He wanted to have emotions. He liked the way they made him feel.

The reason why he told Gabriel the memories is because he wanted to share them with him because he was started to feel like Gabriel was an important person to him as well as the Giver. Jonas could do anything he likes because no one can see what he does. That means that what ever he does that breaks the rules doesn't matter because no one will know. This means that he has a little bit of free time. These are all of the reasons why I think that the quote was about freedom and choices.

When Jonas learns all about colors, he claims "it isn't fair that nothing has color". Why does he say this?

When Jonas learns all about colors, he claims "it isn't fair that nothing has color". Why does he say this? I think that Jonas is really starting to question the community and he is wondering why the apple changed color but nothing else had color. He liked the color of the apple and he wanted the community to have color. He wants to know more about color and what color everything around him would be with some color in the world. Colors express people in many ways and I think that it isn't fair too.

Color is important to the world. Without color, everything would be really boring. No one will get to see color. They wouldn't be able to see rainbows. More importantly, people wouldn't be able to enjoy the beauty of colors. When people meet each other, they will not be able to ask, "what is your favorite color." They wouldn't be able to know what color will be like if they were eating pancakes, they wouldn't know what color it would be and that would be disgusting.

No one will know what color of the sky is. What if they thought the color of the sky was pink? They wouldn't know. Its not fair to not have any color around you. When people wanted to paint, they couldn't because there is no point. There would just be gray or white or black everywhere. They wouldn't be able to love the true beauty of colors. Everything would be the same color and nothing would stand out or be beautiful as much as color would be if color was in the community.

He wants to know more about colors. When Jonas' friends, Asher, tosses the apple to him and it changes color he was really interested in what happened. He loved the color that the apple had changed to. In a world without color, if I tossed an apple and it changed color, I am pretty sure that I would like to know a lot more about color. So far only Jonas wants to learn more about color because he was the only one who saw the color of the apple change from gray, black, or white, to red.

Colors express people. Whatever color you wear or like really expresses you a lot. I know that color is a big part of who you are. Colors can help cure you. This is no joke. Colors can really heal your body a lot. Two of my brothers got cured by color so this is not fair that Jonas can't have this or that his community can't have color. I think that these are all of the reasons why Jonas really wants color in the world.

Do you think that you should have your life be chosen by other people?

Do you think that you should have your life be chosen by other people?

I definetley think that no one should have their life be chosen by other people. Life is all about choises and to make your own choises in life. In the book, Jonas wasn't allowed to choose his job, family members or wife. I would be really angry if I had to live under these rules. I would be so angry and wouldn't want to live in that community, but for Jonas, they didn't know any better and that these things weren't fair and wrong.

Having your own job be chosen is better than having your family members and wife/husband be chosen for you. I think that its alright because they don't just choose a job, they take all of the people and make little files for each person so that they know what they are good at or what they do often to help them choose their job. But sometimes they don't like the job.

Having their family members is the worst thing that they can't choose. They had to like their parents and siblings. If they didn't they would be showing their emotions to them like, angry, or sad, happy. They are not allowed to show their emotions. How ever, every family has their fights, but in this community they weren't allowed to. You wouldn't get to have your blood related child.

How ever having your wife be chosen was second worst because the elders would choose the girls they hang out with the most. But, if you hang out with a girl she might just get chosen to be you wife. Anyway,I think that most people will not like this because they will be stuck with them for the rest of their life. If they were with someone they didn't like, they had to be stuck with them. If they were with someone that they did like, they would be happy.

I think that the people in the community, including the elders, don't know that these things aren't fair because the weren't allowed to show emotion. In the book emotion is called stirrings and people needed to take pills so that they didn't show these emotions around the community. They have to like what they are stuck with because if they didn't they would probably show their emotions for the people or for the job. So, as you can see, I don't think that it is very fair to have your life be chosen by other people.

King Tut imovie

Why do you think Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs created monuments?

I think that Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs created monuments to show how important the gods, kings, and some pharaohs were. Monuments show how important they were because they have carved things into the monument of important times for the king. They have the king and all of the things she/he loved as a child or while she/he were growing up. It has different places that shows the pharaohs culture and what he/she did for the Egyptians. One room for king Tut was full of his organs. This is why the monuments are important. Also because it holds everything about the kings, pharaohs or gods.

What monuments in our society are similar?

There are a lot of monuments in our society that are similar. There is the eiffel tower and this is simular because they are both and important to their countries and they are big buildings. Twin tower is a monument and it is similar because again it is very important and it is an eye catcher around the world. London eye, big Ben, Washington monument, Lincoln memorial, tajmahal, statue of liberty, great wall of china, Sidney Oprah house, white house, are a few more examples they all symbolize something to there culture or country. For example, the statue of liberty symbolizes peace, justice and liberty for the Americans. As you can see that there are a lot of monuments in our society.

How did using google docs as the main portal for collaboration help you with this assignment?

It helped because we can share it with each other and fix mistakes and work together. When we share it with each other that gives us the opportunity to see what each other has done and you can both be working on it at the same time and share information and it give us the chance to not erase each others work because we know what each other has done. We can give helpful hints to each other.

What did you learn about during this assignment?

I learned a lot about king Tut. I learned all about his monument and the five rooms, the antechamber, entrance, annex and the last two.... I also figured out how old he was when he first started his reign being king. He was 10 and when he died he was 6 inches tall when he died at age 19. King Tut prayed to only one god, Amen-re. He forced the entire Egypt to only worship one god, Amen-re. They all celebrated the festival of Amen-re or the Opet festival.

What was challenging?

I think that the challenging part was finishing it in time. We only had two days to make the entire imovie. Me and Kamilla recorded the entire thing and added all of the pictures. One the second day we added the real pictures and we didn't finish in time so we had to come in at lunch. We didn't finish it in 2 classes but we got it done. The only thing we didn't do was upload it.

What school wide learning results were evident in this assignment?

The school wide learning results that were evident in this assignment was collaborating constructively because we have to work together to do each half of the work and work together to finish everything in the amount of time that we had. We needed to collaborate constructively so that each of us can do a lot of work.

City Connections Powerpoint

In me humanities class we have been making our city connections. This is where you write about where you write about a place that you have been to and write about its historical, statistical and environmental factors. I believe that I did very well. These are afew things that I think I was really good at. I had a clear voice and I was lound enough that everyone could hear me. I think that I had a lot of information.

One thing that I think I need to improve on is having good eye contact. I looked at a few people but I didn't look at everyone. It is important to memorize mostly everything because then you can look around at the audience. Everyone can hear you much better because you will be facing more at them and not the screen so you can read it off there. Another thing I need to work on is to not fiddle or shake and move around a lot because then I won't sound so shakey and people can focus on the presentation and not me fiddling around. I should probably bring note cards next time because then I wouldn't be reading off of the screen and reading the large list of facts in front of them.

I learned a lot from my information as well as the class did. I knew a few things but, then while I was reaserching about it, I could learn a lot more things. I learned how many people are in my home contry and how many people are male and female. I also learned a lot about the enviroment like that the city was built on a swamp and that the district has three natural flowing bodies of water, the Patomac River and two tributaries, the Anacostia River and Rock Creek. I also learned many historical factors about it.

I personally think that I did a great job on my overall preformance. I had a lound voice, I had a lot of information and maps, I didn't have very good eye contact but I still looked at a few people, I had a clear voice and I didn't really fiddle too much. I do think that I did a good job but next time there are a few things that I need to add to make it a bit better and stop reading off of the screen.

New Year's Resolutions

A resolution is something that you would like to achieve, conquer or start to do this year. There are a lot to chose from such as be healthier, get fit, get organized, help others, learn a new skill, be nicer, etc. My New Year's Resolution was getting organized. Another one that I want to do is to help other people.

During the lovely break, a lot of new kids transferred or move to different schools. There are a lot of new kids that came to ISKL especially 6th grade. No new kids are in my class but I still want to help others more so that they aren't so worried about moving and new friends and so they get to know the school better. I am not a peer helper but that doesn't mean that I don't have to help the new students when either their peer is somewhere else or they are absent.

Getting organized is very important because it helps you in school, you aren't losing things more often, you keep things clean and neat and sometimes in an order. You also stay prepared and have everything where you want and where you need it. I need to get organized because I don't keep things clean and I am not always prepared and I sometime lose things.

Over the break, I stayed in KL. This probably means that I won't do much because there might not be a lot of things to do around the house. I didn't do much of the bigger things, instead I did more littler things. For Christmas, I wanted to go to sleep early. It was very hard for me to get all of my family asleep. After that, when they were all asleep, me and my sister planned to get up early and take a shower. I set my alarm on my phone and it went off early in the morning like I planned. I told my little brother and he also woke up. We had to be super careful not to wake up anyone else. Me and my sister and my little brother ran down the stairs and saw all of the presents. Santa came!!!

For new year's eve, I watched T.V. That night we had dinner and then had sparkling juice. We went to see the fireworks but they were blocked behind the buildings. Since we didn't have such a great new year because of the buildings, the next morning we watched the ball drop in New York on T.V. Watching the ball drop reminded me of America. In America we always used to watch the ball drop and we used to watch the fireworks. In January I went ice skating in Sunway Piramad with a girl and her family. The girl had diabetes and she was very nice. As soon as my skates touched the ice I was so scared because I was worried that I would slip because this was my first time going ice skating. I had a very fun vacation doing little things but I was getting bored but it was a relaxing break not having to worry about airplane rides, hotels, keys and suitcases.

Profile L

On Tuesday, Mr. Whiting came to our class, Mrs. Narsimans class. We learned about profiles. We got to find out which profile we were. Everyone has a dominant hand, foot, eye, ear and side of your brain.  All of my right side was dominant. Everyone is different though. At the end of the class, we got the chance to read about our selves. I was surprised about what it said about me. We got to hear good things about us and a few bad things. We also got information on how to help ourselves. You are either Logic or Gestalt. They are sides of your brain. I am gestalt. My profile is profile L.

I learn best through movement and by focusing on the whole picture, context and emotional relevance to self. If I fidget around or doodle a lot during class, then, I can focus better. When I am doing homework, it's good when I am listening to music. Again, it helps me focus. I learn best by not disturbing people and keeping my inner feelings to myself. I prefer not to follow step-by-step instructions. I tend to start by imaginating the end results and then intuitively doing what seems appropriate.

I need to move while processing internally with minimal external sensory stimulus, I need to move around in the class when I am doing work. I also need to have quiet time alone, especially when integrating new ideas and under stress. When I am under stress, I cannot read, see or hear. All of my senses shut down.

The strategies that would help me in my learning is that I will benefit from sitting where I can process internally, quietly and move without disturbing other learners. Some activities that will help me is lazy 8's and Thinking Caps form Brian Gym, Blinking while tracking with the eyes, megaphones, integrated cross-lateral hand and foot play like knitting, writing and drawing with the non-dominant hand, conscious walking, dancing, soccer, and martial arts like Tai Chi. An integrative balance of art, music, movement and interpersonal skills combined with cognitive endeavors in linguistics and mathematics will be highly beneficial. When I fiddle around with things or listen to music I can focus better.

I would like my teachers to know this about me I can focus more when I fiddle around with things or draw. I would like them to also know that when I listen to music or draw or move I can focus better. When I am under stress I am not any help. I have trouble listening and reading. My whole side of my Brain shuts off and I lose all of my senses. When I am relaxed I am a lot better at things. I am better at sports, dance, ect. I am under stress usually when I have a lot of homework.

Having Lit circles parteners

What is the benefit of having a partner? The benefit of having a partner is that they might not do their work. They might write the same passage or questions if you don't keep a watch of what they are doing. If they don't do their work then you'll get a bad grade. They might do their work at the last minute and so they might make a lot of mistakes that they didn't notice before because you and your partner didn't get the chance to look back and they definitely have rushed on it so of course there are going to be mistakes. You need to make sure that they are doing what they are doing ever day and make sure that they don't do their work on the last minute and really take it seriously if they aren't done on the day that it is due. Take the lit circles with your partner very seriously.

Things that we were trying to accomplish was the time that we finished our lit circles. Personally I tried to accomplish the size of the writing. How long my passage a response to question and how could I make it bigger and add things to it without making things too boring. I tried to add as much as I can and I had achieved my goal and my passage and response to question and even my connection was long. Me and my partner still need to work on the time that we finish our lit circles because we were done not even the night before it was due. We were finished with the whole thing at the last minute.

I gained some new understandings that I gained about the novel Hatchet. Shannon could give and help me have new understanding about the book. Brian was smart and he was good at fixing things. He was a smart boy and he had his fears too. He had his fears and he was brave though about the bear and the pain in his legs because of the porcupine. Shannon helped me understand parts of the story that I didn't understand.

Lit Circles

How did your discussion help your understanding of the novel? The reason why the discussion helped my understanding because having a question about the book  that you didn't answer someone else might answer for you and you know more about the book. You can make connections with them and they can help you fix your mistakes and give you some ideas. Having a group disscusion can help you understand the book a lot better.

What connections did you make during the discussions? Some connections that we all had was the choice of the passages. This was really interesting to me because I didn't think that we would have the same passage. Also, since we had the same passages, it would be interesting to see how their's was different to mine. even though they were about the same thing. I thought it was interesting to hear their connections. They had really good connections and you don't only understand and learn more about the book you can also learn about them.

What are some predictions that you had? Well some predictions that I had was that Brian will use his hatchet to find food and shelter and save himself on the island.  I also think that his father will look for him and find him in the end. He will drink from the lake and find food somewhere in the island. His dad and mom would search for him, but they will not find Brian as soon as he expects them to.

New Guinean People

Even though Papau New Guinea is located in the same region as Australia and New Zealand, why is it that Australia and New Zealand became technologically advanced and wealthy? One reason is because Papua New Guinean people are only hunters or gatherers just like Paleolithic people. This is because they lived in the jungle. They were busy everyday making sure they had enough food to be healthy. So, they never had time to discover new technology. Another reason is because Australia and New Zealand had settlers, this means that they were very rich people coming coming in from Europe, and at that time Europe was technologically advanced aswell. So they brought everything with them which includes all of their natural resources.

The English were already occupying other countries. When the Dutch came to New Zealand other European countries started to follow the Dutch and they brought with them the newest type of technology. Also the settlers found very rich resources from Australia and New Zealand so, a lot of them came to buy from them. Now moving on to trade and geography.

Papua New Guinea only had hunters and gatherers because they live in the jungle and they were busy everyday making sure they had food so they never had time to discover new technology. In Papua New Guinea their is only jungle, so there are no cows or goats that can survive in the jungle. When the Australians started farming then they lived healthier since they could domesticate animals and get more than one food source.

Mud skipper

I was in the mud on a cold, cold day. I wondered if I should even go out. I wandered around and then I bumped into my friend Henry. "Watch it Patrick," Henry said. "Sorry," I yelled. "Hey, you should be more quiet," He whispered. "Why?" I said. He didn't seem to respond back. I was so curious that I wanted to go find out "Don't go over there," Said Henry. "Why? Is there something over there?" I asked. "Just don't go and just trust me okay," He said. "But I would like to know why I can't?" "Look, if you can't trust me then don't bother to speak to me anymore," He yelled. "But...but.........but," I mumbled. "Look I told you not to talk to me anymore. You know what, if you can't trust me then go find out yourself," He whispered with anger. "SURE," I yelled. "That is such a good idea," I said. "NO, I was just kidding," Henry yelled as he turned around. But by then I was already gone and walking to find out what was there.

He wasn't my best friend in the world so he didn't mind if I died. He was kind of like an enemy. When I got there he heard a loud noise. Then I heard another noise. Then, another one. Later, after 30 seconds I heard non-stop loud noises. I ran across the mud trying to find out what is was. I thought it could have been a bird or an alligator or crab. I was wrong. Totally wrong. I ran and saw humans. I heard someone saying that this was grade 6. Grade 6A to be exact. I was scared of them so I ran in front of them. Kids started to run on the mud that I was in and that was right were I was. I turned my head around and looked at the kid to make sure that he was okay and to see if he saw me. When I turned back around some kids came jumping right in front of my face. "That was a close one," I yelled. "Aha, they must be mangrove planting," I whispered. I tried to run around to make sure that they wouldn't step on me. "Look," said a girl  that was called Cienna. "I think that, that was a mud skipper." "You are right, Cienna. That is a mud skipper," said Mrs. Narsiman. Cienna ran to me to pick me up. I ran in circles and confused her. She slipped in the mud and got so muddy. She picked me up and dropped me and picked me up again. I was so dizzy that I couldn't focus on what she was trying to do to me. She took me to her teacher and everyone was starring at me. I was so scared. I started to call for help but it was no use, no one could hear me this far away. I started to cry in my mind. One kid dropped me and I tried to run away but I couldn't because they stepped on me. I was so scared I cried in my mind.

"Ahhh," I yelled. I ran around and Cienna fell in the mud again. "Oh no," She yelled. Henry was there with everyone, all of the mud skippers that he knew and he helped me scare the 6 graders away. "That's what you get you guys. HA,"I yelled. "Thanks a lot Henry. I didn't know that you would help me," I said. "No problem," Henry said. We walked back to our home in the mud. He kept telling me that he was really worried about me. Then, he started to tell me that he was sorry that he didn't tell me what was there and that he was sorry he  didn't chase me when I left. "They tried to kill me, but then, you saved me! How could I ever repay you," I said. " Well you could be my best friend. I don't have a lot of friends so....?" "SURE. Why not?" I yelled. We were best friends because of today.

Don't be a bully!

What is bullying? Well, bullying is when you either physically hurt someone or when you mentally hurt someone. Mentally hurting someone is when you call someone names or you tease them or you call them a bad words. Physically bullying someone is when you push, pinch, poke, pull, punch, kick or hit, etc. Why shouldn't you bully other people? You shouldn't bully people because it makes the person feel bad and it makes you look bad and mean in front of everyone. When you bully someone physically, for example if you push someone of their bike or punch someone in the nose it will probably show that you did it and you get the blame for doing it.

There once was a new kid at my school and she didn't know anyone and she was really short. On her first day of school these tall girls took one look at her and they started to laugh for such a long time really loud making the new girl feel embarrassed. The next day they walked up to her and they started to call her shortie. They kept on calling her shortie the whole day in her ear and she was sick on tired of that word so she said "stop." They looked at her and said it acouple more times so she asked them to stop again but they didn't and they walked by her and yelled shortie and knocked her books on the floor. She went to go tell a teacher. The teacher told them to stop but they only pretended like they did so that same day at lunch they said shortie in her ear again really loud. She couldn't stand it so I said...................."hey pick on someone your ow size. Leave her alone she is new and I think that you should say sorry or else I will tell the principal." They quickly said sorry to the new girl and then they ran away. We were best friends after that.

I learned a lesson and that lesson was that if you bully people you won't get a lot of friends. What do you do if you are being bullied? The first thing that you should do when you are being bullied is to walk away. If they do it again say "STOP."  The 3rd thing that you should do is tell someone. One thing you should never do is bully back because then you are just as bad as the bully. These are all the things that you should do if you are bullied. Remember don't bully people it isn't cool.

The Time When I Showed Courage

Everyone has a time is their life when they have shown courage. To me, courage is bravery or when you know what you are afraid of and you have to face that fear. When I was in America, I found out that my friends had been going somewhere after school on Friday. I had been wanting to find out for days until they finally told me what they were doing. They were cheer leading.

They asked me to join the team, so I thought a while, and then the next Friday I went to a cheer leading practice. Everyone was nice. But then it started to get serious and I got the cheer leading outfit and we had to practice routines a lot. We were cheerleaders for the Bob Cats and we did cheer leading everywhere. Soon after it started, my friends quit the team. I don't know why, but they did. Me and my sister were now in cheer leading without our friends. Then, the real thing happened.....we had to compete with other teams and I was so nervous.

As soon as I got there I could barely breathe. Everyone was there. The whole stadium was full, so full that people had to get 20 more seats until people couldn't fit in the stadium anymore. This was the real thing. As soon as we got on the stage we all looked at each other because we didn't know where to go. When we got in our positions we performed the routine that we had practiced. I was so proud of myself. After the dance, I threw up in the bathroom because I was so nervous. I feel sorry for my friends because they shouldn't have quit because guess what........... WE WON FIRST PLACE! I was really proud of myself. I had learned a big lesson and my friends helped me. That lesson was never quit. Quiting is for losers. That is so true.

This was a time when I showed courage. I decided to stick with the team until the season was over and not to stop going to practice because my friends had quit the team. I learned to cheer lead and found out I was not only good at it - but my team came in first place in the regional competition. While it took a lot of courage to keep going to practices without my friends support, I learned that I can do things on my own and that I don't have to the same things they do all the time. This is was a valuable lesson.

What Do The Artifacts Tell Us About The Lives Of Early Humans?

Artifacts could tell us many things about early humans like where they lived, how they lived and when they lived. Cave art tools are rocks that are used for either scraping things off the walls and or drawing things on walls. Or hunting for food gathering for food making other tools. Caveman have also found that if you rub minerals together you can make powder to make paints. Caveman used alot of objects to paint on walls. They would use objects like rocks to scrape things off walls and to draw on walls. Then they would use minerals to rub together to make powder as the paint.

Caveman painted pictures of many cave paintings but I will only explain 1 picture called the hall of bulls. I think that the caveman who made this was from France because the picture was found in France. In the painting the hall of bulls there are horses and bulls. I think that scientist called it the hall of bulls because the paintings must have been on the walls of a hall and there were alot of bulls and it looks like the horses are running away from the bulls.

Caveman made spear throwers. One spear thrower has a leaping horse on it and is about 15cm. It was found in France and scientists believed that it was good luck to the hunters. Caveman also made a sculpture of 2 bulls and scientist believed that it was for children's ceremonies. Caveman use some art tools for food like rocks to cut the food.
